  • VOLUNTEER

    LOCAL DAILY VOLUNTEERS

We are thrilled to bring interested local community members onto the farm to experience the farm systems and for us to have extra hands for help! Farms thrive off the service of others and doing service for others feeds us internally. If you have experience in farming or even interest please fill out our Volunteer Interest Questionnaire and get involved in working with your local Taos food systems. Oftentimes volunteers are able to take home any produce of abundance to the farm at that time but with no guarantee. If you consider yourself a dedicated volunteer and think you can consecutively give 5 hours a week for 18 weeks we would love for you to become a Trade Volunteer. Check out that program below.

TRADE VOLUNTEER (only 10 spots available)

The commitment that comes with our Trade Volunteer position is a once-a-week, 5-hour block in the morning between Monday and Friday. Consistency is the key here, we really like to build a solid relationship with these very dedicated volunteers, and oftentimes they are local daily volunteers that stepped into this position during their second year with the farm. Please fill out the Volunteer Interest Questionnaire and in the messages box please inform us of your interest in this trade position if you think it will suit your schedule and interests.

  • WWOOF-ER

Ideally, WWOOFers will join us for the entire season May-November. However, we provide some options for short-term WWOOFers. WWOOFer duties include weeding, watering, planting, insect mitigation, caring for the animals, harvesting, washing, and preparing products for retail and wholesale purposes. From cleaning carrots to making extravagant bouquets, there are a variety of interesting and diverse tasks to do. Care of goats, chickens, turkeys, and pigs gives you a wide variety of experiences to come by! Honestly, not all tasks come easily and take a certain type of intricately detailed care and or extreme energy distribution to get accomplished. It takes a certain type of person to fill these positions. We expect the highest levels of motivation and attention to detail from our WWOOFers. Lots of repetition in tasks, sometimes mundane and dirty but very rewarding to accomplish. We hope to attract self-motivated, creative, community-oriented, earth-focused, and interesting folks we can find. If this sounds like you, please reach out to us HERE (link to WWOOF application). We are taking on 6+ WWOOFers for the 2022 season and would love to hear from individuals that think they fit this position.

We expect WWOOFers to work Monday-Friday 6 or 7 am to 11am-noon. Any additional responsibilities can be carried out later in the day after it’s cooled down. Once it’s too hot to work, the afternoon is yours! You are encouraged to explore the town and get paid work in the evenings or weekends if needed. We will have a small bunkhouse for female WWOOFers, an RV for one couple, plug-ins for camper vans, and multiple available tent spaces for anyone else who is interested. We have so many dogs and other animals working on the farm that we will not be accepting any animals to accompany our onsite crew. We are also not accepting children at this time.

We hope to cultivate a tight, fun crew that will stick with us through the summer 2022 season! Groceries will be provided, and each member of the crew will take turns cooking in our beautiful open-air kitchen. Taos is an amazing place to live with endless opportunities for exploration, outdoor activities, and rich culture. We look forward to having you!
